Syunik

Syunik, is the southernmost province of Armenia. Its capital and largest city is the town of Kapan.Syunik province is 230 km far from Yerevan.

Tourism is among the developing sectors in the economy of Syunik. The cultural heritage as well as the natural beauty of the region attract many local and foreign tourists especially in the summer period. For example, the Wings of Tatev cableway, is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in only one section, and holds the record for Longest non-stop double track cable car, 5.7 km (3.5 mi).

Many forests and woodlands of Syunik are among the protected areas of Armenia such as the Arevik National Park and Shikahogh State Reserve.
